🧰 Quick Maintenance Overview

Before we go into detail, here’s what regular maintenance of your Reany e-bikes typically includes:

  • Cleaning the bike without using high pressure or detergent
  • Checking brakes, tyres, and belt drive for wear and performance
  • Monitoring battery health, charging correctly, and storing properly
  • Ensuring all bolts and components are tightened as per torque specs

1. Cleaning

To keep your Reany e-bikes looking and performing like new:

  • Use warm water and soft brushes. Avoid high-pressure water, especially near the battery and electronics.
  • Remove the battery before cleaning the e-bike.
  • Dry thoroughly and avoid moisture near electrical contacts.

2. Tyres

Tyres affect riding comfort and range. Proper maintenance involves:

  • Regularly checking tyre pressure (indicated on the tyre sidewall)
  • Ensuring tread depth and surface condition are intact
  • Looking out for dents or spoke tension changes in the wheel hub

3. Brakes

Hydraulic disc brakes require:

  • Simultaneous use of both front and rear brakes for safe stopping
  • Never applying lubricants on brake rotors or pads
  • Monitoring wear and replacing pads as necessary
  • Avoiding prolonged brake use downhill to prevent overheating

4. Belt Drive System

The Gates belt system offers low-maintenance and quiet performance. Keep in mind:

  • Do not lubricate the belt
  • Clean with warm water (no detergent or high pressure)
  • Check belt tension—too tight can damage the hub, too loose causes slipping
  • Contact a professional if adjustment or replacement is needed

5. Battery Maintenance

To extend the life of your battery:

  • Charge in a dry, well-ventilated area at room temperature
  • Never charge under 0°C or above 40°C
  • Charge monthly during periods of non-use
  • Do not store the battery on the bike for extended periods
  • Always unplug the charger once charging is complete

6. Maintenance Schedule

Every 3 Months

  • Check tyre pressure and hub condition
  • Inspect spoke tension and tighten bolts/nuts
  • Clean the belt and check its tension
  • Check brake wear and cable tension
  • Ensure battery is fully charged
  • Inspect electrical system and drivetrain

Annually

  • Disassemble, degrease, lubricate, and reassemble the belt and bottom bracket
  • Lubricate gears, brakes, and shifters
  • Recalibrate tyre pressure and spoke tension
  • Apply protective wax to the frame
  • Perform a test ride to check all systems
